Mercoledì 12 aprile, alle 15.00 nell'aula R della facoltà di ingegneria il prof. Periklis Chatzimisios terrà il seminario dal titolo di cui in oggetto.
Il seminario si terrà in lingua inglese.
Abstract: The last few years we have experienced a massive reference and research on Internet of Things (IoT) that connects people, (Big) Data and things by employing Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications. The obvious targets are to create new and unprecedented opportunities as well as to provide richer Quality of Experience (QoE) to citizens and communities. The talk will provide specific technical details and applications of IoT and M2M as well as their impact on enterprises and individuals by focusing on the hot areas of Tactile Internet, Smart Cities, Smart Grid and Smart Home. Furthermore, an inclusive picture of standardization initiatives and activities will be provided, focusing on the emerging IEEE 802.15.4, IEEE 802.11 and LoRa wireless protocols and technologies. Along the talk, major research challenges and open issues will be identified, therefore making the presentation valuable and inspiring for academics and researchers. Actually, the ultimate target of the talk is to stimulate discussions between the audience about smart communication protocols and technologies that can be utilized towards a Smart(er) World!.
